Honey Locust leaves

Seedpods on this tree can be 12″ long, I’ve seen them. But I’ve never smashed ’em up, roasted ’em, and drank the results as coffee — supposedly what the American Indians use to do! A breed apart? Yep, they sure were!

Honey Locust leaves and seedpods give this tree an urban distinction.
